...because even Chaos needs a footer with fine print.

Every season, we tweak the rules of Tossed Off a bit, to spice things up. In season 11, we tried institutionalized libertarianism; in season 16, it was web-based interactive voting. The Network mainly does this kind of stuff to boost advertising rates during the upfronts, but sometimes it's done with the viewer in mind. Rarely, but sometimes.

For Tossed Off's 25th season, we've done away with a lot of the rules, and given host Mike Tanley an unprecedented amount of autonomy. That, and a few extra cases of absinthe.

As near as we can tell, here is what Mike has planned for Teams Typhus and Flatus this season:

Pariah Island

There are two teams, divided by the contestant's sense of self worth. Team Typhus members are all arrogant, overconfident egotists. Team Flatus members are depressed losers.

The two teams will battle against each other for a while, in challenges set up by Mike Tanley, but within the limited constraints of this year's very low budget.

The losing team will lose one member. We're not sure how, but it has very little to do with voting or tribal meetings, and more to do with whoever gets killed.

After we run out of a lot of players, the two teams will join up and the outcasts will compete against each other, individually. Sometimes with weapons.

The last tosser left wins $1,000,000 -- usually. We're not sure what Mike plans on awarding, actually. And he hasn't answered our calls or emails about it.
